Snowglobe, shelf plugins in compiz-fusion-git
by cyberorg, Saturday, December 15th, 2007 @ 11:45 am

Compiz-fusion-git packages have been updated in home:cyberorg repository. It has all the new bling the community has to offer.

What’s new? there is a Shelf plugin by Kristian Lyngstøl that lets you scale down the window size, obligatory screenies follow.

This one has scaled windows rotated with freewins plugin.

Keeping with the winter theme, there is now a Snowglobe plugin by David “Metastability” Mikos , and it has got a snowman right in the middle of the cube.

Here is Gavintgold’s FusionCast to show them in action:

openSUSE users can install the new version via 1-click here.

Warning: This is a test repository meant for developers and users that can fix anything that can go wrong by installing these packages. Have a lot of fun!

I looked in the repositories http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/cyberorg/openSUSE_10.3/i586/ (even via browser, not only via paketmanager) and compiz-fusion-plugins-git is dated november the 25th. When will the updates be available?

Yes you are right, 10.3 repo has somehow not synced still, give it some time, Factory one is synced so this will get done too.

    Hello cyber.

I have installed compiz-fusion-git from your repo and I’m trying to get it to work with nvidia’s driver(the one in 10.3 nvidia repo).

    However, I got this bug:
    /usr/bin/compiz: Trying ‘/usr/$LIB/libIndirectGL.so.1′
/usr/bin/compiz (core) - Fatal: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn’t going to work.
/usr/bin/compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
/usr/bin/compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

    can you help me?
